Avatar: The Way of Water: A Visual Delight

Living with his newly formed family on the world of Pandora, Jake Sully has fully adapted to the Na’vi way of life. But when an old enemy reappears, Jake and his family must go into hiding, if he and his love Neytiri hope to protect the future of their children. I have to say, I love this film to death. I know it just came out last year, but I found it to be an absolute delight. Start to finish, all 3 hours of this film flew by for me, and I found myself totally engrossed in it. The characters themselves, to me, at least, were what I found to be the best part. Jake, Neytiri, and their entire family all felt so real, and felt like a proper family unit should act. But one of the most amazing aspects was the character Payakan, who was from the fictional race of aquatic creatures that inhabit the planet. A totally made up creature, and a completely computer generated character, but you still feel for him just as much as you would any other character. It makes me appreciate the attention to detail that James Cameron has for filmmaking. He’s able to take the story and the effects, blend them together, and make it so you care about a totally fake, not real at all creature. It’s mind boggling. I won’t go on for much longer in this review, because I do plan to do a piece going more in-depth on it sometime in the near future, but for now, I highly recommend this one. It’s still in theaters, so use that excuse to see it on the biggest screen that you can find. You won’t regret it.
