John Wick: Chapter 4- Deservedly Indulgent

It’s amazing how these movies have gotten better and better. Following the events of the third installment, John Wick is still on the run from the rules of the High Table. Fed up with him, they appoint someone to exist as the judge, jury, and executioner for everyone underneath the table, but he has one goal that they need him to meet: kill John Wick. This movie amazed me. It shouldn’t be this good. It’s nearly three hours long, and if I had to guess, over half of it is action sequences. But my word, does this film pull it off. In the hands of any other crew, this would just be an over bloated, over indulgent mess. But, as it stands, this movie worked. It is a bit over indulgent in some scenes, but I couldn’t help feel that it was all earned. This series of movies have continuously gotten better and better. It’s just been a crescendo in quality since the first outing, and it hasn’t wavered since then. By the fourth film, I’d say they more than earned just having as much fun with this as possible. No, the action sequences don’t have to go on for as long as they do, but if they make them this well, and have been since the first film, why not let them have their cake and eat it, too? The box office returns from this one alone have proved that people will watch it, sure as anything. But, as far as the story goes, this one is as satisfying as any could hope for. It wraps up the fallout that has been in the limelight since the first movie, and does it in a way that had the entire theater on the edge of their seat. The final sequence had such a great surprise moment that got a reaction out of everyone. If you are on the fence about these movies, and you haven’t seen them yet, just do it. You will have so much fun, and you will find yourself getting into it way more than you ever thought you would.
